Shrinathji

This artwork is a contemporary rendition traditional Pichwai artwork. It shows Lord Shrinathji, the seven year old avtaar of Lord Krishna, as the central deity surrounded by decorated cows painted in white with red hand motifs on their bodies. The artist has constructed a distinct geometric black-and-white pattern which creates a three dimensional effect for the viewer.

This project is a collaboration of Bridge Bharat with Carpet Couture. Here we bring forth the two mediums to create a unique collection of artworks that provides an intervention in viewing art.
It is a coming together of thousands of years of painting tradition with the Bhadohi art of weaving.
