India Design 2024

Floating through the winsome eyes of the artists, the Lover’s Divine Unrest begins. It is the Drama for the ages starring the eternal Shyam. Within the cascading array of Pichwai, and Chamba Rumal, the Sutradhar of this Ras, the national award-winning artist Dinesh Soni and Padma Shri Lalita Vakil emblematically creates a vision of Krishna, cradled between masculine and feminine devotion. The works are the mirror to the artist’s dreamscape, their Braj and we are mere witnesses to their vision.

It is Their Mughda Madhusudhan that is witnessed on the cloth, he is the Shrinathji of the innocent times painted in the artist’s unique style, the playful Govinda for the woman of Chamba who weaves herself within his various leelas, the creator, the Vishwaroop, the lover and the beloved cascading within textile, formed from the tip of his eternal tongue, and drawn on the sacred clothes by our legacy artists.

Tracing the forms of Shyam through paintings, and silken embroideries, Bridge Bharat presents Lover’s Divine Unrest, a collection of early works of Lalita Vakil and Dinesh Soni, two master legacy artists who invite you into the fold of their vision of Bhakti Rasa.
