The Piece

Bridge Bharat introduces ‘Song of Day and Night’, a textile installation that is a unique iteration of Gond art with traditional embroidery of Chamba Rumal and Chikankari. This materialistic intervention would allow us to experience and read into the living traditions of these art forms, their songs, and folktales with tactility of embroidery traditions of Chamba Rumal and Chikankari.

All the three artforms in the installation respond to the site of a tree through the experiences of livelihood, culture and aesthetics. The botanical motifs and designs are ever-present in all three artforms. This project is produced through the curatorial intervention of Bridge Bharat and our master artists.
