In the quaint town of Chamba, tucked away in the serene hills of Himachal Pradesh, Mastu Devi, a Chamba Rumaal artist has been practicing the ‘needle art’ for over 35 years: an art that can be traced back seven generations. Not too far away, in the small town of Bhilwara in Rajasthan, National Awardee Kalyan Joshi has singlehandedly revived the lost Phad Chitra art, a 700-year-old legacy that fuses visual art, music and sustainability!
