At India Design 2024, amidst the dazzling displays and cutting-edge trends, Bridge Bharat presented a collection of cloth paintings and embroidery works in a presentation titled Lover’s Divine Unrest by master Chamba Rumal artist Padma Shri Lalita Vakil and national award-winning Pichwai artist Dinesh Soni.
Our exhibit wasn't just a showcase of static artworks; it was an invitation to witness a vicarious interplay of Shyam Ras within the early career works of the artists Dinesh Soni and Padma Shri Lalita Vakil.
Within the cascading array of Pichwai, Jain paintings, and Chamba Rumal, the Sutradhar (storyteller) of this collection emblematically creates a vision of Krishna, cradled between masculine and feminine devotion. The works are the mirror to the artist’s dreamscape, their Braj and the viewers are mere witnesses to their vision.
